Throughout the year the EMLA team will offer three full day conferences on highly relevant and topical themes. Not only will delegates have opportunities to network and share their own experiences and thoughts but they will also hear from multiple, highly skilled and qualified speakers who will inspire and stimulate further ideas and discussion about how these ideas could be implemented.

Leadership Essentials Conference
25th January - Trent Vineyard Conference Centre
We are thrilled to have Professor Martin Elliott joining us as keynote speaker for our second Leadership Essentials Conference. Professor Elliott is a paediatric surgeon, who has previously served as co-medical director, at The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
In an area where there is nowhere to hide (success and failure are a matter of life and death; families demand answers, and children ask blunt questions about what’s happening to them), Martin has worked to create a culture of accountability without blame. Allowing for failure as long as there is insight from that failure and enabling others to highlight errors regardless of their role or seniority.
With stories from his career, as well as the wider health service, Martin provides practical insights into innovation, leadership and culture, as well as a fascinating look at the surgery, holding a life in your hands, and what surgeons really think.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to select three workshops to attend, out of the following four choices:
Operational Leadership – Resilient Leadership
Delivered by Berkshire Consultancy this workshop will explore how with the NHS constantly under the spotlight our leaders need to be able to be resilient in times of challenge and transformation.
Supporting Transformation – Leading into the Future
Delivered by Ove Arup, this session will start to look at the practicalities of managing current and future change, maintaining engagement and vision, ensuring return on investment and being an ambassador of change.
Delivered by Ed Tempest, Managing Director of Taganga and one of EMLA’s faculty coaches, this workshop will give you an understanding of the tools and techniques that are used in coaching conversations that can then be utilized in the work place to release the potential of colleagues.
Relationships and Connectivity
The workshop is designed to examine the nature of relationships that we form, what works for us and how the things we are do can lead to relationships either not forming at all, or breaking down quickly when they are formed.
